Americans need to affirm the founding vision for the World Trade Center, because there is a direct connection between new Twin Towers and a better world. We all realized as we watched the Towers crumble that our world had changed forever. Whether 9/11 was the beginning of the end or of a new beginning depends on what we build at Ground Zero. It is only out of our hands if we are resigned to being treated as subjects instead of citizens.
The World Trade Center is either going to be a monument to people who lost control of their country or to people who took control of their destiny. The failure to rebuild the real World Trade Center is the ultimate disconnect between the American people and our government. There is no difference between the arrogance and manipulation that led to the global banking meltdown and the arrogance and manipulation behind putting a World Trade Center next to nobody wants where the irreplaceable Twin Towers belong.
This site is dedicated to the proposition that we will never have a peaceful, stable world until those we put in power respect the will and good sense of the people they govern. And that we will never have the world we hope for until we insist on that respect. It begins with us. It begins here.
These potent symbols of peace and cooperation can and must regain their rightful place in our world. We ask everyone who reads this to suspend their notions of what is and isn't likely and stand up for what is and isn't fitting.
We are highlighting here the natural linkage between the Olympics and the Twin Towers because, as premier symbols of peace and good will, the ideal location for the 2020 Games would be the New York/New Jersey harbor ring, in sight of the incomparable towers that so truly represent those cherished ideals. It would be a legendary event on the world's stage.
It is clear that the people across the political spectrum and around the world are waking up and refusing to be misled. If we citizens do our job, then we are confident that we will see the sun rise between the Twin Towers before this decade ends.
